The Income Support Division (ISD) administers public assistance programs for the State of New Mexico. They work to improve the quality of life for New Mexicans by assisting eligible families to:
Buy food/Food Stamps
Get jobs or job training/NMHU WORKS
Pay for heating and cooling/LIHEAP
Receive cash assistance/TANF
Provide childcare assistance through referrals/ CYFD
Obtain health insurance coverage/Medicaid; New Mexikids
Refer to child support by CSED
Individuals or families needing help can go to the Income Support Division and fill out the necessary application(s) for any of the programs OR got to YES- New Mexico (New Mexico’s Self-Service Eligibility Portal) at www.yes.state.nm.us and apply on online. The department will then review the application to determine eligibility for services.

The Raton Hunger Pantry is a ministry of the Raton Ministerial Alliance, providing non-perishable food to eligible local residents on a bi-monthly basis. To receive Food Pantry distributions recipients must fill out application forms yearly. Once a recipient is approved, they may come by to receive food on each regular distribution day, as they need. Emergency requests between regular distribution days will be considered on an individual basis.
Call the First Presbyterian Church office at 445-3514 for the schedule of distribution days and application requirements. The Hunger Pantry is supported by donations of money and food from local churches, individuals, and community food drives. Contributions may be mailed or brought to the church during business hours.
